My T97NSR with handguard RIS installed

On another avenue, can you explain what makes the FTU "dramatically improve" the handling of the type 97? I believe Stevo asked this question 2 pages back.

From what I have heard and seen:
1. Little to no weight gain by adding the upper
2. Lower line of sight which optimizes the use of optics with the T97
3. It holds it's zero, even when removed and re-installed
4. The option of a non-reciprocating or reciprocating charging handle
5. Compatibility with the lower being designed which will bring even more improvements

M14.ca can chime in with anything I have missed...

My mistake, late night and early morning has left my comprehension skills lacking. Your term of "military grade" has zero merit. It is based on nothing but your own interpretation of what is or is not "military grade". That kind of marketing IMO is shallow and breads distrust.

No further comment.

The new NRCH provides a forward locking, non-reciprocating, extended side charging handle with a large, suitable grasping contour and built-in grip surface. The NRCH utilizes a built-in carrier that will stand up to side torque and hard operational use as well as provide for the smooth operation and faster cycling of the rifle action from the left or right side of the T97NSR (left hand shooters take note). The FTU™ can be optionally fielded with a NRCH or RCH, or both, for use on the right or left. The merits of mounting scopes, red dots and iron sights on the optically precise, low and long 14" 1913 picatinny rail inherently improves the use of modern optics, therefore, overall, when we improve the optics platform, we improve the operational use of the rifle and in theory, we improve its overall use by the end user.

I'm happy for you, that your business is expanding but your kind of pushy marketing drives someone like me away. I wish you all the success but you will never get any business from me until you learn to tone it down.

329$ for that FTU?

Ouch, thats a big chunk of cash for the T97. If you were in the 200 range, yeah ok but 300+... mmmh

This kind of comment just shows how out of touch people are with the realities of manufacturing. $329 is spot on with my initial guess of around $300. Being a machinist, I can readily appreciate the amount of time required to design, test and manufacture (and repeat) prototypes and products. That is more than reasonable, and a WAY better deal than the chinese thingy posted higher in the thread.

I fully agree. Unfortunately this rifle was marketed to a crowd used to ncstar "quality" and pricing. Its no surprise a quality aftermarket accessory that's built in country would be deemed over priced.

I agree totally. Very reasonable!!

My comment about copies showing up was in relation to the guy that gets his cheapo piece of rail produced in china.
Now that he sees what a real Canadian rail looks like. The factories in China are going to get an order soon. He will even sell it to the Chinese Military as his own.

That is a good idea. Sell it to China s military. ..

I don't really know where this poor quality BS is coming from... Does anyone here bashing the T97 own one? Mine works very well and fit and finish are excellent. I would say better than some North American manufactured firearms I have seen and have experience with. I have lots of experience with Norinco crap guns (I had my M14 blow up in my face for instance) and very nice guns (XCR-L, HK SL8, etc) and this rifle is of exceptional quality. It looks like a masterpiece when compared to the other Norinco firearms.

All I have to say is don't knock it until you try it.

ironically there is a large number of ppl who never own or has never fired t97 b$%^& around about it.you may also want to have a look at the poll thread around here f:P:

So norinco puts out one average build quality rifle with some of the worst design features and ergos ever created and that equates to it being a quality gun? Norc is junk, always has been and always will be. Comparing any norc to an xcr is akin to determining who's lemon is the most tart. No one said all north American guns are quality. You don't need to shoot a 97 to see its less than reliable with poor ergos and near zero options for optics.

Every thread I see you comment in you come across as the leading authority in every product ever made. By your own admission in other threads, you have never owned or experience some of the products you chastise. I think people take your comments with a grain of salt..

I never said I was the authority on anything. I post facts and logic. If both point to a product being garbage then I guess it would be a safe bet that it is. How many norc threads are there about guns not working, not accepting aftermarket parts, being sent to the smith before its ever shot, modifying it with a dremel to make it work? - believe there are atleast 3 b!tch threads right now about issues with the 97 alone.

The bullet jamming has everything to do with the locked in height of the mag you use. A grey lar mag sits low, too low to allow the bullet to ride on the feed ramp. The norinco mags work perfect for this reason

It's unfortunate that the FTU is going to be considerably higher quality then the rifle its going on.....

hitzy do you own a t97? (umm) you seem to really like putting down the t97 at every opportunity on every thread there is about the t97 (...)

ummmm I really think people who don't own a t97 should stop posting about a gun that they don't own, because people who own the gun and like it wont give a ... ... .........

and why bother btching about a gun you don't like AND don't own? move on

waiting on CanAms version, and hopefully they will have fixed all the QC issues by then. My opinion would be the same though. It's a novelty firearm, not exactly good for any specific purpose....ie sport shooting, target shooting, hunting, just going to be an iron sight range gun for me.

Perhaps, but this still is about a 1/3 of the initial price of the rifle, no matter how you spin it or justify it.

I know they are a business and need to make a profit on this to make this thing work but imho, this is simply too much.

Now, if i was an importer and were to make a package deal of a T97 with this FTU sold as one, for say.. 1200, then we may have something.

But hey, call me a cheapskate if you must. Or keep going after my lack of production/manufacturing experience. In the end im just a consumer with a limited budget.

Uhhhh so if the CanAm version is $849, accuracy plus has the NSR for $899 right now as well, and this rail is $329.....the rail is "too much $" in your opinion, but you would buy one already together for $1200?
LOL
