Here's what I've put together w/ a Winchester 1300 defender.
everything you see, cost me a total of $650.00 max, including mount & scope, heat shield (kinda cheap, but), pistol grip & stock, recoil pad & the gun
(if I remember what i payed for the 1300 10 years ago). That includes all shipping & taxes.

I tested a few rounds & the stock felt good, i can tell it's not the highest level
of quality, but it worked great & felt good, with low recoil slugs :)

my AR is a sweety too :)

is that an ati stock?

i have one, shot some slugs the other day, discovered that butpad does nothing for recoil, im going to look for a limbsaver that fits on

I gotta ask...how many rounds do you need to put through a shottie for you to actually need a need a heat shield? I did a quick 150 rounds plus last week at Silverdale... didnt think I needed one...

Maybe paint yours black to? You could use a nice cheap can of manifold flat black paint from Can Tire.

It's like anything you like!
you don't NEED it but like it.
do not judge the taste of other! If HE like the heatshield or if HE think it's usefull, respect his choice. He did not ask us about the usefull of the heatshield!

You have a very nice setup Colt45gunner!!

Oh please.. when the hell do we put "tactical" stuff on our toys because we need them. It's for the "kewl" factor!!! :)

Nice setup 45!

I've "wanted" a heat shield after about 40 rounds of buckshot...

Need is another story, I guess... I mean, most of the time, you don't "need" a seatbelt...

And they can look cool - Which IS the most important thing!!

:)

I don't care how they look. It's un-necessary weight that I wouldn't want to carry for long. Of course, if it's only for display and mall-ninja'ing, then have at 'er! All the LEO, IPSC shooters, hunters, etc. I know who carry shotguns don't want anything do do with un-necessary weight for obvious reasons.

I'd even ditch my mag extension if I could figure out how to load 8 rounds without it ;)

Guess you could call me a minimalist.

Ya , thanks guys.
re: heat shield, I don't know if I'll need it, maybe by chance it may come in handy? But like others above had posted. It looks cool :), thus the choice to
get the silver one over the black, to add some colour.

re: extra weight, it's only for 3 gun'n, not dogging the hardwoods in deer season. so not an issue.
the crappy but pad did help a little , but so far, only tried the low recoil slugs
will try more very soon.
the shell holdr though, is too tight, I can hardly pull out the shell.
any suggestions ? is it cheap quality and not rigid enough ?
the individual holders squeeze together making it even tigher.

anyone know who can smoothen my trigger pull on it ?

Re: next saturday at Silver dale, next as in April 1st, which I missed
or next as in April 8th ?

Any gunsmith worth his salt should be able to accomodate you for a nominal fee.

As for the shall holder, may I suggest not using a side-saddle and instead get a quality shall holder for your belt if you shoot IPSC. It'll be way faster IMHO.
