This is a Russian SKS I picked up from Frontier. Note the ###y gold bayo.

Before you all string me up: Everything I have done is completely reversable and all the original parts have been stashed away in little baggies or bubble wrap.

List of mods:

T6 Stock
Quad Rail
40/5 Round Magazine
3x40 illuminated Scope
Folding & Collapsing Weaver Mount Bipod

I also have an AK style muzzle brake enrout. I will have a range report in a couple of weeks, I need to head south and pick up some ammo first.

Ok.. so can you get detachable mags for Russian SKS's? I thought it was only the SKS d models?

(Forgive me, Ive read around but havent found much info on that particular topic.) I thought the mags were like a floor plate sort of deal?

Thanks for all the comments. I understand the Mag is pretty big but honestly I dig it, and it's mine to enjoy. Plus when the Zombies come a knockin' ;) I picked it up from Zefarm.net. Great customer service and fast shipping. The magazine is a "duckbill" set up. No modification needed. Here's a pic:

I got the T6 off the EE. In all my searching I haven't found anywhere in Canada or stateside that carry them. If I do you can bet I'll post a link for people!
 
yeh the T6 is secksy. im scouring the land looking for one [once i recover financially from buying my recent toys]

Thanks for the link, good to know. Is shipping/taxes extra?

Too bad they are out of 30-round mags, I'd pick up a couple.

So you just take the normal trap door mag of the Russian SKS and you can use those duckbilled mags?

This would work for any SKS?

How does it take away form the function , hmm lets think about it , bullets go into mag then into said rifle then into chamber then BOOM!!
Sounds like function to me. My mom once said if you dont have anything nice to say don't say it at all !
I am getting one of those mags for my sks , when the zombie invasion starts and i have a mag with some "potential" you won't think it is overkill then will you !

yes, remove the entire fixed standard mag from any SKS (except SKS-D) and replace it with the duck-bill . it gives you the same appearance as a "D" without paying twice the price of a "D".

"D" only takes AK47 mags.
