Well, your on your way to an awesome collection , I like the 1911, one day I plan on getting a Colt Commander, but they're old decent in their right.

Great start! The 1911 is especially nice. Have you gotten a chance to shoot it yet? I've been interested in getting a SA 1911, let us know how she handles.

I have had it for a couple of years, I have put about 2500 rounds through the 1911. I am collecting the stuff i need to reload for it. I love it!! I cant profess to be "experienced" but I think it is a good gun!!

Looks like a good start! I love 1911s, and I love Rugers. In fact, all my handguns are either Rugers or some brand of 1911.

.22lr and 45 acp.

Excellent choices. Even if you never, ever, add another handgun caliber, you will not have missed much by having two of the most versatile cartridges.


In my case, I decided to go with .22LR/.38 spl/.357 mag because I got tired of picking up .45 brass to reload
