My Tradex Russian Toy

My sks from trade ex arrived today and I'm so excited to take it all apart and clean then go try it out

Its a fun gun - I put almost 100 rounds through mine - flawless feeding w/ cheap ammo. I was hitting some clays at 100 yrds as well.

The only issue I have is the sights, kinda hard to see in some lighting - then again this is a basic military rifle so I am going to leave them be.

the sights are terrible, I was thinking about painting the front post something bright, but then I realized how ghetto that would be.

I got mine pretty much the same day as you did....Same issue with UPS, mine had a hole in the box from the action. Not a ton of cosmoline, but mine is a '52, shiny bayonet, force matched stock, free floating firing pin.....Cleaned mine up with some simple green, some remington gun cleaner, and a little rem oil....Also can't wait to get mine out but I gotta figure out if the reg was submitted by trade ex? There was no paper with the SKS (we always get the "temp" reg's when buying locally), and I don't wanna wait!

Did you check your packing slip? Anthony always puts the cert in with them.

hey guyz. one of my beefs with the marstar sks/ammo deal [besides the shipping fiascos] is the ammo comes with NO stripper clips.
does the tradex ammo come on stripper clips?

The ammo I got didn't have any stripper clips but the rifle came with 2 stripper clips.

I got an SKS from Tradeex as well!

Good service, super fast, my sks reeked of cosmoline though
so I will be off to Cdn Tire for the break fluid and try to clean it up.
Looking forward to shooting it!
(gotta find some non corrosive ammo after I burn thru the 1,000 rounds fm Tradeex though) any leads?

Prvi Partizan and Sellier & Bellot make non-corrosive hunting ammo for the SKS. It's not cheap though.

Try some of the sponsors at the top of the page or you could start reloading for the SKS.

Oh yeah, I assume you mean "brake cleaner" instead of "brake fluid"?
