I'm confused (as are almost all the civvies, probably).

What is this 'hi-power' mode, what does it do, and why can't you use it in Canada?

Because it's not good for your friend's eyes on exercises.

+1 We tend not to care how much Mw we put down range overseas -- it gives a brighter and longer marking/aiming point -- however it is in the NON EYE SAFE zone in the high power setting for aimer or pointer. While hadji is not covered by OHSA, the CF (and allies) does frown on blinding friendliess for no reason

On high power I could laze about 4km with the 2B's visible laser at night (damn that was fun :D )

Once all the other bits get here, I will post some more pics. And yes the pack will go on top where it belongs. I was just experimenting. I will also get a pic of the M203 mounted for those 37mm guys out there.
Thanks for the kind words and packages from all. They were greatly needed and appreciated.
Hoddie.

Hoddie... Nice rig, way cooler than anything civie I have seen...

Take care of yourself over there! My brother is in Khandahar...

Cheers
Jay

Sorry but what is so great about these lasers vs say other laser products? What do you guys recommend for back up iron sights? Please provide a link if possible.

Navy Shooter: The scope retails for 1650, best online price I found was 1475, I bought mine locally for 1200 plus tax (7% US dollar). I thought it was a great deal, and I didn't want to be part of a potiential web scam.

Im actually looking at 37mm launchers, I've always wanted one, even if I dont plan on using it. LOL

Its Hoddies CF C8SFW...

The US FDA regulates the sale or IR lasers in the US (go figure) they are a LE/MIL only item --

You can get a VIS Laser only these days in Canada - unless you get a Russian Cossack (Corssack?)

Dude, that's a good question.

Ah I see you meant modified the weapon.

Some of us RobAk, Bartok5, Reaper etc. started doing it out of operation necessity -- the Operational commanders have seen it is a NECESSITY -- and allow the troops to add parts as long as they follow the Bartok5 principle about not removing metal...(not cutting delta rings etc.)

Sorry guys, the pack is not for sale.
The mail has been very quick coming in, but slow going out. I got some parts from Dave's in about a weeks time.
We are allowed to add parts to our rifles as long as it does not require major work. For example removing the slip ring to install a Samson rail. Drop in and add on parts are good to go, as long as the rifle can be returned to it's original state when we turn them in. Lots of us have different handguards, grips, buis as well as sights. It is all a matter of preference and what works. Personally I think the Elcan is junk, but we require something that has magnification for positive target identification at range. So we are stuck with it.
The Short Dot will take care of that however. I can't wait.
Hoddie.

Kinda OT Shawn, but do you guys re-zero after installing/removing a RAS/RIS and if so have you noticed much deflection in POI? I've noticed a significant shift with certain units from a flash light company.
