My Two First Handguns- Norinco NZ 85/ Walther P1

Actually, these are my first firearms!

They came in the mail today together although bought from separate vendors.. Well anyways, here they are!



Definitely recommend Marstar (obviously for the products they do have in stock :D)





Man was the packaging greasy!











Now on to my second toy!

And heres a 1000 rounds of 7.62x 25 I picked up for my future TT-33 (Thank you Trade Ex for the very fast shipping!)














So my overall throughts.. The Norinco does have some very sharp edges! I cut my hands in several places while handling it.. It also does have some machining marks but isnt as bad as some other Norincos I've seen on here. The Walther on the other hand has some handling marks but very smooth all around.. The Walther's slide is easier to rack than the Norinco's and it doesnt cut me! It was also made in 1965.

Overall, I'm very happy with my purchases and the next step is to join a range!

And now I patiently wait for my two rimfires to come! (M93 and Remington 597)

the walther is a grate gun to start with. the kind of thing you put 20,000 rounds though till it falls apart. nothing not to like.
 
watch out with the p1 that you have. There were 3 P1's in total. The first with an alloy frame, the second with a thicker alloy frame, and the third with the thick alloy frame and a hex reinforcing nut. The first two have a chance of cracking the frame if you fire a lot of heavy loads, your pistol does not have the hex nut. Also IIRC the differentiation between version one and two is that there are more slide serrations on the V2, so your pistol is a V1.

Just something to know, I've no idea how many hot rounds one would be looking at before the gun shows any of those symptoms though...


I lucked out when I found moreguns ( before they were raided ) and bought a p1 with a reinforcing hex pin.

Yes it does! I attempted a full field strip to clean the inside from all the factory grease and ended up losing the main spring (hammer spring?)! It just shot out while I was attempting to reassemble it and now have no idea where it landed! But I'm sure it was due to my error..
