My visit to the Springfield Armory Museum and PATTERN ROOM!!!

I really appreciate these photos. Thank-you. I don't travel much and having a glimpse into the Springfield museum, especially these up-close, detailed photos, brings me there. Cheers, Frank

The bottom full rifle in the image... Right above the Gerät 03.... is that a flip down FG42 sight?

wow theres enough rifles in that place to arm a whole army!!!

Yes, but no one would know how to make safe, load or unload each other's rifles!

The French experimental station (?) had its weapons lockup cleaned out by the Resistence early in WWII. All the prototypes, trials models and one-of-a-kinds disappeared. When the French recovered the plants, they had to make appeals to the Maquis to bring stuff back in so the designers knew where to start developments again. Kind of like loading the art out of the vaults at the National Gallery into Jimmy's half ton because the shthouse walls were a bit unappealing.

Great pictures
A few years (probably 15) back a couple of guys went to a special event at the Springfield Armory I think by the M1 Garand Association.
They got to meet John Garand's son and handle No1 Garand and M1 Carbine. Caje could fill in the details, once in a lifetime trip.
Two places on my bucket list are the Springfield Armory and the Enfield Pattern Room, I think Knob Creek would be in there.
