Recently took my wife to the range and converted her from (guns are scary and evil) to (holy crap that was fun) now she is finaly going to get her PAL/RPAL. As such I would like to get her a .357. Does anyone have suggestions for a revolver which is light and would suit someone with a small frame and tiny hands?

Ruger SP101 in .357 with the 4.2" barrel of course...stainless, nice-looking, light but not so light that she'll have recoil issues. It's a well made, reliable revolver that sells for a reasonable price. Make sure you start her off with .38 wadcutters, if she wants to try a bit more bang then go with some .38+P ammo...if she's comfortable with them THEN let her try some .357 cartridges. Congratulations on converting your wife to our side! :)

As my american friend would say "Make sure you get the wife a hammerless revolver, you don't want her getting it tangled on something when she pulls it out of her purse". We can only wish, eh?

My wife had no problems with my Ruger GP100. It is heavy enough that the recoil from 38 specials is negligible.

Ruger Vaquero in .357, my wife shoots the 3rd & 4th pistols in the picture below in Cowboy Action matches, plus she gets to buy clothes and dress up. Its a win, win for her!

Nothing says "Class" with a capital "C" like a S&W Model 19. The K frame is just the right weight for a regular diet of .38Spl with a few .357Mag's to liven up a range session.

She'll enjoy it and you will too.

A nice blued S&W586 isn't a bad alternative either. It's a trifle heavier what with being an L frame gun as opposed to the 19's K frame. But it's only a couple of ounces.

If she likes shooting .22 be aware that Ruger has come out with a 4.2 inch SP101 8 shot in .22LR. Reports from down south are pretty good and the first spring kits to lighten the double action pull a little are already out. This should be a real winner for the rimfire wheelgun crowd up this way.

How about letting her pic out what fits her hand best and you pay for it.

Just remember, the smaller and lighter, the more felt recoil.

My wife is 5' and has small hands. She likes the feel of the Ruger Super Blackhawk gripframe or the Smith & Wesson Target grip. She doesn't like the rounded frames.
