So I bought one of the old Brinks Wingmasters from Casey at TacOrd, such a good deal that I couldn't pass it up. The shotgun showed up in pretty rough shape (which I expected), it was filthy all the way through, some light surface rust on barrel and trigger assembly, lots of Knicks and wearing on the bluing, cuts all over the wood and a chunk missing from the forend. Although it looked like it had been run over by a Brinks truck, the action was smooth as butter, I own a grizzly and a 500 and have shot a few 870's but never a Wingmaster, I new when I racked that slide that I had to clean this old girl up. I bought some 70's era Wingmaster wood off of a fellow CGN'r as well as a 12.5" barrel, picked up an S+J extended safety and some flat armacoat and went to work. Stripped the old Wingmasters old bluing off with some fine sandpaper and scorch brite pads, tore it down completely and cleaned everything with brake clean. Hung all the pieces in my garage and painted them, let them sit for a bit and then in the oven they went, nothing like the smell of baking Wingmaster
Pulled it out of the oven and reassembled, I'm still going to stain the stock but I couldn't wait to put it back together.

And with the Chinese Cousin

I'm pretty happy with the results, I will sand a refinish the stock and switch out the recoil pad, but for now I'll leave it alone. It was a fun little project to do.
