Hey guys,
Wasnt much of a black/green rifles kinda guy but for some reason the Black Special Carbine just keep popping up every where I looked on the internet.
So I went ahead and finally purchased it from Wolverine and it just came in now.
First off I love this thing. Having owned a Classic Green Non-restricted before and not really diggin it (size wise) I thought maybe shrinking it down a bit might change my outlook on it and so far it has.
Couple of questions for the guys in the know, (yes I have read the sticky on FAQ for them) but I dislike the play in the upper/lower. I know about bending the lower forks abit to hold the upper better but who has actually do this before???
Anyother ways to fix it with out putting it in the vise??
Next question, is it ok to paint the gas tube???
Just dont like the grey metal under the handguard, want to paint it a semi-gloss black just like the rest of the rifle. Possibly use hi-heat paint???
My front sight glows so bright in the dark but the rear drum tritium seems very dull I can still see them in the dark but they are just so off to the front sight.
Is this normal or should I already be on the phone with Wolverine, LOL!!!!!
I have the low profile B&T top rail and was wondering if anybody else uses the same rail with a Spectre 1x-4x on it?? Is it sky high, can it be used without the cheek piece??
Have the cheek rest just dont really like it that much.
What do you guys think, Aimpoint micro or Spectre??????
Anyways, got my order of extra furniture in OD Green to give it a "Classic Black" kinda feel. Love the classic green but not a huge fan of the colour on the reciever. So why not do the best of both worlds.
Still waiting for CanAmmo to ship out my 3 extra SAN mags and crate of Norinco .223 and I am ready to rock.
Here are some pics.
Thanks guys
BF
