Just browsed my walmart ammo locker. Am I just emerging from a cave? I guess its good I saw this ammo now, cause it'll be flying off the shelf at these prices....
1) Challenger 12ga 100ct target slug low recoil - $204.49
2) Nosler Trophy .308win 165gr AB $147.97
3) Nosler Trophy 6.5PRC 142gr ABLR $206.97
4) Nosler Varmageddon .223Rem 62gr FBHP $74.49
Question. Is my Walmart shelf stocker a retard, or are your prices similar at your local Walmart??

same here, they did have a few 410 boxes left 3-4 yrs ago, guess I should have grabbed them at about 7.oo I think it was.
But then I would have to look for another gun, Bond Arms again?

Walmart here sells zero firearms related.

When I lived in YK (1975-1981) Newton Wong was still running the Super A (and the Gold Range) lol.

At my walmart in Thunder Bay they had some ridiculous prices as well, although it was weird, for the longest time they had barely any ammo, then they stocked the cabinet full, then before Christmas removed it all again. They had 9mm for $42 a box, Federal 800 Round Range Pack for $140 ($0.20 per round after tax), $31 for Winchester white box .223, which I remember being just under $10 like 6 years ago. Probably a bunch of other extremely overpriced hunting calibres that I'm not up to date on the going rate of.

Walmart just over on the mainland here, cleared out ammo just before covid. Fishing, outdoors, and team sport stuff also shrank.

I have not heard anything about Walmart going "woke". Rather, they are known for squeezing every cent from their suppliers and customers. Pre Trulander, cheap Winchester white box, hunting ammo was $22-28/box, everywhere. Little local shops cheapest centerfire hunting ammo is $47. Other lower end stuff about $60. Shudder to think what African calibers or Weatherby stuff is now.

I'm not sure how normal these prices are?

Abbotsford Walmart off Sumas is no better. They have some ammo, but the prices are mostly insane. Which is kind of odd to me, I've bought lots of ammo from Walmart pre-covid, at the time they were the cheapest place for the cheap brands of centrefire ammo, your Winchester super x, fed blue box, and Rem corelokt and the one in Port Coquitlam that was my go-to store at the time always had the calibers I was looking for (270 and 243).

Can't help but feel like places like Thompson MB and Yellowknife can blame part of the prices on transportation costs...

Have 2x Wallys in town and BOTH dropped ammo and hunting stuff about 5-6 years ago. Still have Fishing supplies . . . until POLY and leTurd goes after Fisher-people ;-P

It would be a REALLY frosty Friday before I would pay $147 for a box of .308, no matter how fancy it was supposed to be. Wobblemart has obviously gone woke.

Having said that, there are the guys who still try to chisel at gun shows over relatively cheap prices, probably the same guys who try to sell primers at outlandish prices. I wonder what the $147 stuff actually costs Walmart?

If I was a Walmart shopper , and I thank the good Lord for abundantly blessing me financially so that I don’t have to darken their bleak doorstep, I. would cease being a customer due to their ammo rip offs. Can buy cheap Chinese junk elsewhere like Amazon.and they deliver. Can also get better prices in ammo from local gun shops…

Yes, they are, same with Canadian Tire, they have stopped selling guns but they still sell Ammo, they generally have a very large markup,

Its a few blocks away to me, VS the local gun store being a 15 min drive
I just get Canadian tire to price match the stores pricing and they'll usually do it as long as the store has stock.

Saves me the drive through rush hour traffic often
