Italian inox frame with an American made black slide. Comes in a box that says Beretta Special Series... I cannot find a single thing online other than one esoteric thread about a 96 that is similar and nobody knew anything.

She may just be a mix and match job, but that box though!!

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

That's a real keeper for sure. How did you come across it?

Well thank you Sir. I gentlemen had it for sale for 3 weeks on the EE here, no one bought it for $700 so I traded him a Sig pP226r I had. I probably lost on trade value, but I didnt like the feel of the Sig in hand. I also do legitimately prefer the look of the Beretta, especially this two tone deal.

According to your serial number, your gun has an approximate manufacture date of 1994.
You can look this up and additional information of US only distributed Berettas here:
http://www.berettasupport.com/applications/tech_data/schematics_search_new.htm

Beretta has been known to mix and match parts with whatever was available in stock at the time. Including the box which was likely used for some of their engraved models, or commemorative series pistols. I’ve seen several mix and match slides and barrels over the years set on grey alloy frames.

Does your pistol have any polymer components like the trigger, rear sight, safety, mag catch as of recent years’ changes, or are these parts metal? Trying to establish if the frame was made in 1994 as per the serial number search and the slide is from recent years.

You're amazing dude :D, thank you.... again!

I have not received the pistol yet, but the previous owner, a really kind family man, says the guide rod is steel (or alloy) and he believes the trigger is metal as well. When it arrives, I will go over it and see what is and isn't plastic. As you know, I plan on replacing some parts on her and making it even more "special".

Pretty excited about this pistol! Regardless of whether it is a DIY mix and match... it is purdy!

Could you contact Beretta and get info from them based on the serial number ?
Curious myself about this pistol .

Funny you mention that. My wife, being a fair bit younger and savvy with all things millennial, sent Beretta a couple pictures and the pertaining questions about the pistol via Facebook of all things.

I will definitely return to this thread with any and all info from Beretta regarding this oddball pistol.

Excellent . I look forward to that .

I'd reach out to Brad Taylor, pb14tx, on the various American gun sites, including Beretta Forum, he is the expert on weird Beretta stuff. I got my restricted (not prohib) 8045 Cougar from him.

Nice to know that you got one of the few LAPD version with the longer barrel. They are indeed restricted.

I saw this one on the EE as well, my first impression was someone had an inox frame and bought off Numrich a blued slide and slapped it on.
Don't think there is any history or something special here,,, just another user build.
Looks pretty good to be honest.

That was my impression as well. It does come in that "special" box however. I'm just curious about it... I know I'd be a little bummed if it was some super rare special gun, as I want to buy all the bits for it and make it really nice.

There was a reverse two tone but I think it had a blued barrel as well so it may be one of those with an inox barrel or maybe a full inox that someone coated the slide to resemble the ones used in the Jack Ryan series and Walking dead series or the Samurai edge from Resident evil 5.

I dont think the slide is coated... it wouldn't be an American slide if that was the case.

Interesting link man. I missed this weird Beretta in Walking dead :)

I was super happy to get that gun, and then, now, I never shoot it lol
Brad had a bunch of them for sale and gave me a smoking deal due to a couple groups we were in together for like a decade.
