I remember seeing this action online or in a book and believe it was associated with rocky gibbs guns but can’t find anything online.

It had a Mauser style extractor with multiple lugs aligned horizontally like a weatherby, ross or roessler titan but on the position of a traditional 2 lug rifle

Did I dream this? I don’t think so…

Anyone have a link or pictures?

Sounds like a newton to me.

Newton on the left, Mauser on the right

Charles newton was way ahead of his time. He did the 6.5-06 (256 newton) in 1913, and the 375 ruger is basically necked up version of his 30/35 Newton.

The 256 is NOT a 6.5/06. Newton was good cartridge designer but not much of the rifle manufacturer.

Pretty close isn’t it? Can you tell us about the 256?

Edit: looks like it’s shorter with more taper. Case capacity between the swede and the 06. Neat cartridge
