I recently acquired a Erma(S/27) 1937 98k.The rifle is in VG+ condition. Upon inspection, I noticed it had a "winter trigger" enlarged guard. This was not issued in 1937. Also the buttplate is a cup-style, also not 1937 issue. All numbers are matching, bolt, receiver ,upper band, floorplate, etc.Two small stamps on the pistol-grip K-13,K-23. Would K mean Kongsberg arsenal in Norway? Thanks in advance for any info. What would be a fair market price? Pictures are included. Thanks to Rhino 62 for posting them.

No pictures yet but your rifle is likely a Czech refurb post war. Many were refurbished after the war and sold by Czechoslovakia, these were force matched. No 98k's were ever made by the Germans with the large trigger guard, this was a czech invention post war. If your gun was a Norwegian surrender rifle it would have a second serial number on the buttplate as the Norwegians used their own numbers. If it is a refurb they are good rifles but worth a lot less than an original. I sold one last year for $650. Looking forward to your pics.

Looks like a refurbished rifle to me. Floorplate and magazine are late or post war, stamped steel, Czech post war large trigger guard. Nice looking Mauser though, they are usually great shooters.
