Mystery Pirate Pistol Help with ID

This is 6" long, and no provenance or markings. Does anyone have an educated (or otherwise) idea of what it once was?

I have no idea, it belongs to a friend.

Little centre hammer boxlock, mid 19th century. Could be American, British, Belgian.

Look like a percussion pocket/boot pistol. CVA used to make a kit. Pedersoli makes a replica. Your's may or may not be one of them. Living for who knows how long in a container could have caused it to rust to that extent.
