Mystery Receiver? HELP Please?

Is there a 32 caliber in Savage? I never ran into one before but being into military stuff there are many calibers I have yet to see. If there was a 300 savage necked up to a true32 caliber, that would be it!

32-40? Do you know if it's rigged for a rimmed or rimless round?

Not sure if it is set up for rimmed or rimless but the Savage 300 protrudes just the right amount for a bolt face to enclose it's head and an extractor to hook the rim. I suppose it could be set up for either rimmed or rimless. I wish my Pal had got the bolt assembly for this but he has searched throough everything and can't find it. It looks like the neck is way too long to match the chamber just like 32 special. The savage has exactly the right length neck and looks about half the length of your 32-40 rounds. I'll have to post a picture of the chamber cast and a few different rounds to give you guys a better idea of what the dimensions would be.

No I didn't Ljungman! The only thing I found out was it was chambered in .300 Savage using a chamber cast. It must have been a wildcat gun being built by the old gunsmith. I have a Lee Enfield in 9mm Luger he started building and I have it to the shootable stage now, so he was capable of some pretty weird stuff. ;-D Unfortunately after he passed away many boxes of "junk" went to the scrap heap and I expect the bolt etc. was among these items and that's why I never was able to find it.
