Aha; you bought that one :>) :>) The crests are for Siam and I think the caliber is the carbine version of the 50-70

Not likely unless I can find another springfield or Sharps in 45-70 or 50-70.Graham

Are you sure it is a 50 cal? The rim and base sizes are close to a .577" Snider or 58 US Musket. The rear sight looks like an 1853 Enfield. Is that a steel pin below the sight in the stock? Do you have a full length pic?

Probably 12.7x44 which is darn close to the 50-70. Fun little rifle to play with.
