Hey fellas, looking for some input. 1946, 762X54r shoulder killer. Bore appears new, as does the whole gun. I imagine it's been through the refurb. I've never fired it, but have others. Sling.

I'm not that converse with Soviet stuff, so I don't know the manufacturer, but I think the pic shows it clear enough.

What's it worth? I'll take a consensus and put it in the EE for that amount.

Thanks.

If there's a square with a line diagonally through it on the metal and/or stock it's been refurbed.

I'd say $200-225-ish.

Izhevsk arsenal 1946 M44. The [/] is a Ukrainian depot refurbish mark found on most rebuilds. It is usually found on the stock on the left side. Kindof hard to tell but looks like electro-penciled SN on the bolt?

$225 is a tad high. Traddex has them for $139.00 with the trimmings. Depends on how fast you want to move it I guess.

http://www.7.62x54r.net More than you ever probably wanted to know about the Mosin. =D

I would say 150-175$. The post war m44's tend to fetch a bit higher value than war time ones. Are any parts electropenciled or is it all stamped matching? Just another tip, post this up in the milsurp section. Most Nagant buffs hang out there

Id say cote is on the ball, 150-175$ area. The postwar carbines really are nice, with quality workmanship and finish

There is no electro pencil, the numbers are stamped, on the bottom of the bolt "lug" area, butt plate, etc.

I can't find the square, with square slash thing anywhere.

I've got half a case of ammo, and I'm thinking if it's only worth $150 I might as well keep it and shoot the thing someday.

Yeah I would do that if I were you. Post war m44's that are all stamped matching are very nice rifles. They are a blast to shoot too. I sold my Nagant 91/30 a few months ago and I regret it, since I didnt get much for it. Hold onto it and enjoy it.

I paid 150 for a mint polish m44 a while back and they are the cream of the crop. There were millions of these rifles made and they are very easy to find in excellent condition value is around 100.00 - 150.00. In ten years time if supply dwindles a bit that may go up 20-50 bucks. Just shoot it and have fun.:sniper:

If you have ammo left, enjoy it! You can still sell the rifle later for the same price as you'd get today...

I may have an extra butt recoil pad somewhere, helped my shoulder quite a bit with my M44. PM me if needed.

Lou

M38s and M44s are brutal to shoot, fun to collect. There is no such thing as having fun shooting one of these, especially from the bench.

PAST recoil pads are a necessity.

I use a slip-on pachmayer and it works great. Cost me 50 bucks, but it works and doesn't bubba the gun when I have it in my milsurp display. No one has to know my dark, soft secret.
I just picked up a full size nagant to go with my m44, for the days I feel like a delicate flower.:p
