Curious if anyone reloads for these using FMJ's? Tradex had some nice 98gr TMJ DEWC bullets.
I got 500 in a trade along with the Lee dies, been tinkering around and seems like after seating these bullets (.308 diameter) the case is a bit too wide to drop in cylinder.

I read somewhere to remove decaping pin and full length resize, voila fits perfect nice and smooth like a factory crimp die. Now, is the bullet jacket messed up inside the round? If it was a lead bullet prb wouldn't worry too much.

Any thoughts??

Just loaded dummy rounds, no primers or powder but might make a small batch tomorrow. I must say these cases need LOTS of lube to run them thru those FL dies and bullet seating dies, wow!

Problem with that is when you resize your rounds again, bullets get swaged to the size of the die along with brass. When you remove the round from the die you will find out that bullet is lose in the case. This is due to that brass having more spring than led and have no way of holding the bullet. So when you shoot your bullets will likely walk out from cases.
I'd recommend getting a different crimping die that will just give taper to your ammo

It's really tight in the case, I was concerned I may have an issue with over pressure when shooting these rounds. I might try pulling the pulleys tomorrow with the kinetic hammer to see how easily they come out.

Also I was reading that 3.2-3.5 trail boss would be a great start for that bullet. Not much load data available

Ok so curiosity killed the cat so to speak and I pulled one the the "resized/swaged" bullets and now they are .296 from .308....not too good for accuracy as the just tumbled down the barrel.

Back to drawing board, I think will look into the .30 carbine dies next
