I am just wondering if there is a rifle out there that has all these features.

-Stainless
-Synthetic stock
-Detachable mag
-Available in .270 or .30-06
-Controlled round feed

So basically a winchester model 70 all weather extreme but with a detachable mag. If no is there a kit to convert the model 70 to a detachable mag (yes I know this is disgusting to some)?

The M70 EW is fine, you don't need a detach mag...

I actually agree that the new model 70 is fine and I don't need a detachable mag. It is just one more thing to loose or break. All my friends are big time fans of magazines, I just wondered if such an animal exists. I know FN USA has CRF actions with detachable mags just not stainless.

Ruger and Kimber don't have DMs as far as I know...

The CZ 550 American comes in both 270/30-06 with a synthetic stock, CRF, and DM. However you can't get it with Stainless. I think you are going to have to compromise. You either get Stainless with no CRF like the Remington DM which has exactly what you want but no CRF or you get CRF but no Stainless...

The biggest advantage of the CRF in my mind is that it clears the cartridge if you short stroke the action when chambering a round. Which prevents a jamb situation.

I was going to say that I imagine that CRF jams less but I thought better of it since there would probably be crappy CRF rifles that still jam.

Can someone just buy a reputable rifle and not care about CRF?

Yes, its a remington.

Cooper meets all your critera except for the stainless action. All their repeaters have a detachable mag, you can get synthetic stocks and stainless barrels.

Sako 85 Stainless Synthetic meets all of those criteria.

I took a look at one of these today actually. I am not a fan of the style of CRF they use. I am partial to the model 70 style claw type. I did not like the fit or feel of any of the Rugers with CRF as well the flat stainless ruger uses looks cheap in my opinion. I did also look at some CZ rifles and they were nice! no stainless though.

Cooper will have a magnum action in the next few months, followed by a stainless action, but it is not a controlled fed design.
