So I'm looking for something new in an optic and I want some ideas for a 1x red dot. I've used Aimpoint, Eotech, Vortex and Elcan. I'm looking for something fresh and new. It's not going to be easy. Lol

The winner in terms of aesthetics… Zeiss Z-Point

The MARZ sight is basically EOtechs retarded cousin.
Of the sights I've used and listed so far, I'd co-sign the Z point, and C More (seems to work well on pistols I shoot, .22's and center fire rifles.) - decent sights, in that order.
Why the change from the red dot giants?

I dumped all mine for NF 1-4 x 24. Its the only optic with magnification that is a true 1 power, and I found it to be every bit as fast as Aimpoint, which I found to be the best as dedicated red dots.

Lol!
That's funny. I should clarify it will be going on an AR, ACR,XCR or KRISS.

I hate to burst your bubble, but I think you'll be disappointed...

• Zeiss Z-Point: $$ Expensive, really small dot
• Trijicon SRS: Nice eye relief, but heavy sucker
• MARS: $$$ Ridiculously expensive, better chance of catching a flight to MARS than finding one of these...
• Leupold Mark 4: Meh...
• C-More: Maybe (never tried it)

The one I really like (and personally own) is the Trijicon 42mm reflex with an amber dot. It's fibre optics and tritium, so you never ever need batteries. The objective size is particularly nice on this one. These will run you about the same as an Aimpoint Micro, so it won't burst the bank, either.

And because of your affinity for black rifle pr0n... ;)

Not true, the Trijicon Accupint is a true 1x with adjustable magnification.

As for reddot optics, the C-more is crap, and the rest was covered by Blaxsun. There's a reason Aimpoint and EoTech are king of the hill.

my mistake on the Nightforce being the only true 1 power mag scope. Swaro is making one also.

Still better options than dedicated red dot's in my opinion

Ya BABY!
You know what daddy likes! I think you should post my favorite on here too. You know which one that is!

There are lots of true 1x options now and I presume more to come in the future. I agree that a low mag optic is a better all around optic than a reddot. I run an Accuppoint and wouldn't trade it for a reddot.;)

Let's not forget that it's all based on Mission Specifics. To use a term I'm familiar with. The user may not shoot past 100yards in which case the standard red dot works great, but if you switch from a 100yrd to a 200yrd or greater, the standard red dot sucks. I've got a Vortex like that. 1-4x I believe. It's on another AR. It's also on a longer barreled AR. I've tried using flip over magnifiers and they kinda get in the way. Some types I've had lock to the side which was better, but Meh, not cool. Twist lock worked well, but still bulky.
