Name suggestions for the new shotgun forums

At least in thier minds they do, always trampling on peoples fun, popping peoples balloons, kicking kittens, spitting on peoples ice cream, running over squirrels for sport, pushing old laidies into traffic etc etc etc, in short Killjoys

Of course I know you are only playing being mean ;)
 
"General Purpose" seems like a really poor naming choice.
wouldnt general purpose include 'hunting and sporting'?

with such ambiguous names between the two forums, expect people to post the exact same questions about the exact same guns in both forums.
 
So now we have 2 Shotgun sections. Hunting and Sporting Shotguns & General purpose Shotguns... Would have been wiser to keep it the way it was. I actually agree with MBP on this one. Go figure.

My mind is playing tricks on me! I agree with both? How can that be? It's not April Fools yet?

Shotguns for Fudds - polished blue, glossy wood, cast-on/cast-off, and "best quality"

Shotguns for Harms Way - rust-resistant, rough and tough, "there are many like it..."
 
I'd say ...go with "sporting shotguns" for hunting, trap skeet etc and "tactical shotguns" for everything else
 
Hmmmm....definitely some headscratching going on. :confused:

There are a couple of hunting threads in this forum. For example the 16 gauge thread which is not quite a tactical gauge unless one is attacked by rampaging pheasants.

Meanwhile in the other forum is the sticky about reregistering a 14" gun and threads about the Stoeger Double Defense and the twin 870 kit which might be more suitable here.

Then there is the overlap between Hunting and Sporting Arms and Hunting and Sporting Shotguns. A shotgun question could legitimately fall into both.

No doubt these teething problems will work themselves out. ;)
