Anybody here a member? It's been years since I shot there. I see they have a couple fun trap/skeet shoots listed on their website for the first week of Jan 2024 with a link to RSVP for attending. I'm going to be there visiting family but nobody has responded to my RSVP and none of the telephone contacts have returned my calls inquiring if non-members can attend or make use of the ranges. Bringing a couple trap and skeet guns and gear with me in case I can take part and arrive today(Dec 20/23). If anyone has contact info that answers their phone or returns calls it would be greatly appreciated. I brought two flats of ammo to burn if the club wants to sell me targets to shoot at?! ;)

Did you ever get hold of someone there so you can burn some gunpowder

Just show up in the morning, worse case is you have to pay the $20 guest fee at the RO shack

Lots of very nice people at that range. Just go!

I finally got hold of someone. I'll be heading over day after boxing day. The trap and skeet ranges are open every wednesday and sunday from 9am - 2pm and yes there is a $20 non-member guest fee.

Went to the club this morning, walked in to the trap building, introduced myself and asked if non-members could participate. Was met with a very enthusiastic "you sure can". I asked who to pay the range pass fee to and the fellow says "we don't do that on the skeet and trap ranges, we aren't into scaring people away like the other ranges range officers, we encourage as many to participate as possible". He asked if I belonged to another club, I said "yes Lloydminster Gun Club". He says"oh well you know the drill then no need to escort you onto the range, sign up sheet is outside, put your name on the visitor sheet and each time you go to shoot put a number 7 in the boxes next to your name on the daily tally sheet and at the end square up what you owe for the # of rounds x $7/round."
Great bunch of guys! Got invited to a turkey shoot in Qualicum, everyone was friendly and hates Trudeau! It was a great morning! And I got to shoot a round with my new to me Pigeon Grade Trap model 12 and posted a 25x25 with it for my first time shooting the gun. I shot three more rounds with my TM1 and called it a day with 4 rounds shot. I'll be back out sunday after a bunch of handshakes and "are you coming out sunday?" from a bunch of the members. Super nice bunch of people.

Shot again today at the Nanaimo club. What a great morning. Bright clear sunny skies, not a breeze and +7 degrees. The turkey shoot dates I was given for Qualicum were incorrect, the shoot is on new years day. I have 1 flat of ammo leftover so maybe I'll head to the turkey shoot tomorrow and get a little more shooting in before heading home wednesday.
