NANUK Hard Cases at a great introductory price from TESRO Canada!!!

I already own several Nanuk cases, including a 925. I don't have the 925 4 UP though, and I really like the foam insert that it has. Is it possible to order just the foam for the 4 UP?

Do you offer free shipping or any better shipping rates?

Edit: Just to clarify I am not knocking the deal. It is a very good deal for those located in the Ottawa area. Just wished it was as good for those of us in the West!

Unfortunately we are unable to offer free shipping at this time. But when ordered together with other items you might need, the a combined shipping rate will be calculated which brings down the shipping cost per item.

Kind Regards,

Miriam

Thanks for your clarification. I really wish we could offer free shipping on these items. We are a small business and are trying to offer a good variety of items to the shooting community at the best price possible. We do realize that shipping costs in Canada can be brutal. For large or heavy items the best shipping rate is usually achieved with more quantity. For example the shipping for one brick of Ammo is the same as 2 bricks of ammo...same applies for cases.

We also want to inform you that all NANUK 990 and 995 cases are now equipped with TSA Lock Powerclaws!!!
No Additional TSA locks needed for travelling!!!

Well folks, the Tremor fits the Nanuk 995 with the stock folded.

And, I wanted to thank Tesro Canada for having the cases available AND including a no charge upgrade to the case! It was unexpected, but TSA locks are integral on the Nanuk 995! A very nice feature for travel.

Thanks Guys!

Cheers
Jay

Jay, could you post some photos please - I would never have guessed it fits with the foam inserted as the height of the case is not really all that much. Glad it fits

We took some shots while Jay was here. We will post it as soon as we get it off the camera. The trick was to take out one layer of foam. The foam in 995 comes in four layers. One in lid and three in the case. The three layers in the case are consisting of two thick layers and one thin layer. We took one of the thick layers and it fit nicely. Also it can fit with the soft case which is super handy for travellers.

Before Christmas I got my hands on the Nanuk 935 6 Up Pistol Case. If you are a handgun shooter, I highly recommend this case. It has come to the range with me over a dozen times and can take a beating. Compared to a Pelican case, they are just as sturdy (albeit a little bulkier) but the wheels are better and I find the dual-pole handle less wobbly verses the one giant piece of plastic that Pelican uses. The foam so far has been very durable and goes back to form even when being stretched out a little bit.

I did a little video review that you can check out where I compare the Nanuk 935 6-Up to the Pelican 1510 when it comes to storing handguns.

Jay,

The only hard cases I am aware of that will fit rifles that long are the 1770 which is double thick, Starlight has one (again double thick), and Explorer in the US just released one at Shot that is 60" long.

The Nanuks are amazing though. Make the Pelicans look like Walmart junk.

Read his last post - his rifle fits in the Nanuk 995. :) He already bought it.

We will keep pestering Nanuk about it. Perhaps they will do a run of larger cases even it is a limited to one colour. One thing that we have too keep in mind when going to larger cases is the weight allowance when travelling by air and just the size of the case itself.

For example Jays rifle in 995 with the soft case was just over 26Kg, so he would have to pay overweight charges to an airline. If you have military ID, this is is not so much of an issue, but for everyone ellse that means lots of extra cost when travelling. The good thing is , that 995 being rather large case already will give you extra space so that you can fill it in with non-ammo accessories and be able to travel with just two bags.

Going back to the size of the case. 995 is a big case. It is not the largest case on the market like pointed out, but it will not fit in the trunk of smaller or midsize cars without folding the seats. If you have a larger vehicle it is a different story of course. So going even bigger makes it that much harder to fit it in your vehicle. If you are using the case on daily basis having the case as compact as possible has its merits.
