Condition is everything.
Anywhere from $200 - $2000.
I've seen some real dogs and some that looked like they were made yesterday, in the same lot.
Depends on who did the conversion as well and which model of conversion.
You really need to talk to John at Marstar about this.
some guys get down to the nitty gritty, like who made the barrels, bands, locks etc.
Sniders have never really shined. Don't understand why???
Even though they were widely used and some were even issued as late as WWI, no one ever made a movie with them as feature pieces.
After the movie Zulu came out, the value of Martini rifles skyrocketed and they became an ultimate collectable.
They were in such demand that the lamps we made up by welding 3 rifles together and running a cord up one of the chambers to a lamp head that had it's base pipe set in a plastic barrel plug, were being carefully cut apart and cleaned up for the collectors in the US and Canada.
It cost us $5 to make up a lamp out of 3 rifles. Took about an hour to finish the lamp.
Lamps sold for $15 each on average.
This was good money in the early sixties.
You couldn't give a Martini of any model away in those days. Some of those lamps, were made up of rifles in almost new condition.
They came in 150 per pallet, stacked side by side, fifteen per row. Nothing in between them.
Pretty much the same thing happened with Sniders.
Many were just given away with a bag of loose ammunition, for filling up your gas tank twice per month at teh local service station.
