The 28-year-old hit 48 shots out of 50 to break the previous record of 43 and secure GB's first men's trap gold since 1968.
China's Qi Ying claimed silver with 44 out of 50 while Guatemala's Jean Pierre Brol Cardenas clinched bronze.

Olympic trap must be challenging. 48/50 wouldn't even get you a mention at an ATA/PITA event.

Yup the targets are shot out of a bunker at a speed of 63 MPH instead of 42 MPH like ATA targets, they are limited to 24 gram loads which is slightly less than 7/8 oz an no faster than 1350 FPS. I shot Olympic trap once in Edmonton before the range was shut down after the 1988 Olympics, those targets are just a blur compared to ATA
