I just received a spam can of Norinco 7.62x51 ammo. That's 500 rounds. There was no key, so I used a pair of needle-nose Vice Grips to open it.
When I broke the seal, this...musty... sort of odour filled the shop. (No, it was not coming from my grow-op!) It smelled like it was canned next to the wok in a Chinese restaurant about 20 years ago. As a matter of fact, the stuff is all stamped "19 93". No markings on the spam can. It's all 'copper-washed' and it looks pretty ... rustic.... Certainly not as pretty as the commercial softpoint I've been using recently for (expensive) plinking.
I'm headed off to the range tomorrow, so I'll let you know how it shoots when I get back.

I have been toying with the idea of buying a case myself. I am interested to see how it works out for you. Please update us when you get a chance.
also curious as to how much fouling and residue there will be.

I have gone through thousands of rounds of the nork surplus from a few vintages! All of it worked great! But this new batch fron canam seems WAY cleaner! Hardly looks like the rifle has been fired after a day of plinking!

Good luck so far with a fair bit of CJ95 ammo through my M-14S. No lot number on boxes to share. Have seen some others post on split cases at the neck. Steel too brittle for whatever reason, SCC from nitrates who knows or maybe overly large chamber at front. Haven't got the year or the lot#s yet.

I shoot NATO bullets. I shoot.

Well, I was out at the club range this morning with the new ammo, and I'm happy to report that I fired 25 rounds, and each one worked flawlessly.
I held one of the cartridges next to a 1960s Czech 54r and the Norinco 'NATO' looks like its smaller brother. The only difference I can see is that the NATO ammo primers are clean copper, whereas the 54r's are painted with a red coating. The NATO stuff was billed as 'non-corrosive', but the spam can had no markings on it at all.
I got it from "SFRC".
Based on today's performance, I expect that this ammo will be very reliable.
As to its accuracy, I cannot attest. Our exercise today was to punch holes through paper people from differing distances and various shooting positions--sitting, off-hand, supported standing, and so on. Either you shot the man or you missed.
I'll return to the known distance range this week with different measurement criteria so I can see where my rounds are going better.

hoping someone can confirm my ammo is non corrosive.

I just got some loose rounds, no boxes or case. they are stamped 61 and 92 on the bottom of the cartridge. copper washed steel case

Dont want to shoot it until I 100% know

"...ammo is non corrosive..." When in doubt clean as if it is. Flush the barrel, receiver and gas system with hot water, then clean as per normal.
"...whereas the 54r's are painted..." Primer sealer. It's because the Chech stuff actually is surplus, but the Norinco is not.

PRC Norinco ammo is not NATO. It's 7.62x51mm copper washed 147 grain ammo. Nothing 'NATO' to do with it...

I have mucho stockpile of this stuff for my 1919A4... runs flawlessly. Cheap blaster ammo... don't expect match quality and you'll like it.

It is NON CORROSIVE (the CJ93 CJ95 stuff for sure... other stampings - no clue).

here is the ammo, I really wouldnt want to tear down the gas system, etc on a m305 after each shoot

I guess I can always pull one and do the nail test

I just bought some last week and tried it out yesterday. I shot 20 rnds through my M305 and 15 thru my Israeli M 98. All rounds fired without complications. It shot exceptionally well thru my Israeli M 98. Vertical dispersion was about 1" at 100 m and horizontal was about 2" which is a trigger pull issue on my part. I didn't chrony it but it seems fairly hot. I'm happy with it and will buy more.

I have ran commercial ammo through all my .308s FOR YEARS, however, with the special sale canam had, I just can't resist it, 1000 rounds of norc 7.62x51 (cj . 95) showed up this month and 200+ rounds went down range from my norc m14 already, no issues at all. Very happy with the $0.402 cost per rd. But I don't think I am going to use the norc in my other 308 rifles, there may be warranty issue with steel casing ammo, it is clearly stated in my US made rifle owner's manual.
