WWII German STEEL CASINGS CAN BE RUSTED ON THE INSIDE . the power they used was inserted wet , they expected it to have a 5 year shelf life.
blowing up a firearm is never a good thing !

A while back I bought a large crate of WW2 8mm and Kurz Late War (1944, 1945) Steel cased ammo along with 8mm German Ammo, 1935 and up Brass Case Ammo, all in cardboard boxes with labels.
Some of the Late War ammo was like a rotten sewer pipe that rusted right through, and the majority of it was OK, and the Brass Case ammo looked great.
I wouldn't shoot it either as it isn't safe and you don't know how paper thin the steel cases could be, just waiting for an accident to happen.
