Going to be posting this pistol for sale soon. I was hoping someone could give me an idea of what these things are worth now. I've owned it for 20 years. All serial numbers and Waffenamts match. Two magazines and holster (not a reproduction).

I'm no expert but I keep an eye on these sorts of things just for curiosity. In the last couple years, I've seen them go for $800 to $2000

The holster definitely add $200-$300. Is there a maker's name on the holster? or the soldier's name written inside perhaps?

Are the mags original German issue?

Are the grips painted red on the underside?

Somebody that knows more than I do will chime in hopefully.

surplus 70's and 80's crap ones ,with no history ,are selling for $800. Canadian military ones are selling $1500-2000 , and there is no shortage of those.
I would think a correct German one with the extras would be the same price or more.

Thanks for your responses. Yes, the magazines are original. They have the same Waffenamts as the pistol. The holster has the makers mark and Nazi eagle on the face under the flap. Thanks again.

I recently acquired this rig for $2000. As you can see, it's in relatively nice shape, and includes an original SS Totenkopf visor cap skull (which would likely sell for $500-700 on its own). So, with this information in mind, I would estimate your rig to be worth $1500 at most.

Cheers,
Chris

A friend of mine sold one last year to another buddy of mine for $800. Was in about the same condition with one mag and original holster. I thought that was a really good deal and would have jumped all over it but the other guy was offered it first.

Student of History , so because you got a smoken hot deal , his gun is worth less ?

Gaff,

As I'm sure you are aware, pricing is a very subjective subject. You may feel that I got a "smoken hot deal" whereas I feel that I paid fair market value for that particular rig. What I posted above is simply my opinion, I am not purporting to be the unquestionable authority on High Power pricing.

That said, I watch the EE pretty closely and have observed that pistols in the condition of the example shown by the OP tend to sell in the $1000 range on their own. Additional magazines typically fetch somewhere in the $250 range and holsters are also in the $250 range. So, the $1500 valuation I gave was not simply an arbitrary number that I pulled out of a hat. But as I said, this is a very subjective subject. My previous comment was not intended to offend...

Cheers,
Chris

The price is always what you want to pay .
You can Say yes or no ...

But one thing , the average years old of collector is high and price can't be in the sky for So long....last gun show , i saw only grayhair in the crow who really buy.....younger Will see price fall before 10 years

With the incoming bill and an uncertain future, I really don’t see handguns staying as high as they are. I personally think $1500 is about right for these. With an extra mag, maybe $1800. But that’s about all. If you pay more that’s fine but I won’t. And I have paid up large for a collectible german pistol before but it’s probably 50x rarer then a high power.

The first pistol I ever shot was a Belgian Nazi marked high power. I was 16 and I talked about it for a week. Old German vet owned it and let me fire it.
