NC Star scope mount screws

NC star everything is pretty much junk without exception. Do yourself a favour and get a CASM mount as mentioned above, or one of the many other quality M14 scope mounts (ARMS, Sadlak, etc.).
 
Figure what the thread size on the thumb screw is from one of the others and purchase a socket bolt or screw of the same thread then cut the threaded portion off the damaged thumb screw and drill and tap new threads through the center of it then cut a thread portion from the doner screw you purchased which is the length of the required thread plus the length or depth of thread needed to fill the head of the thumb screw and install the new thread repair piece you made in the thumb screw head with red Loctite and presto a backyard fix. My personal experience has shown this to be fact... I avoid Nc star anything, don't waste ammo with this.
