My buddy has one on his '06. I told him to get something better but he insists its a great scope with great zoom and a iluminated reticle. After shooting some groups that were shotgun sized at 100yds I tried it and figured out that when its more than 8 power the target blurs, when you adjust the lens the target gets clear but the reticle blurs.
P.O.S. IMO!!!
Bushnels cheapest "Sportsman" scope is by far a better option IMO.

NcStar has the reputation of some of the early Tasco scopes. I have some Tasco's that still work great and I have some of the NcStar compact scopes that are still going strong. They are like rolling the dice, so far i have been lucky.
And when he says "JUNK" really he means "PURE CRAP"!
So...what kind of warranty do ncstar have..I'm curious..
Good question Pizdet, I prefer better quality optics but I am considering a NC star laser for dryfire practice and knowing that I can send it back if it craps out is comforting. That combined with Marstar's Iron clad thing means that if I have to send it back twice then the second time I will be getting my money back and not a third turd.....
hit an miss ... not only with product but with use as well.
I've had good experience with the fixed power ones, but anything with zoom. you can never go max.
They should make a NCSTAR Sticky, with this product line, someone always comes along and asks about them

y'know, i've been on this board 6 years, and every scope other than leupold is junk, every press other than dillon is junk, all norinco is junk, and whatever else you care to name has somebody calling it junk- - well, i've got a goodly portion of a lot of the cheap stuff- lee, nc star, and norinco, and it's NOT ALL CRAP- a great deal of it WORKS- maybe the fit and finish isn't quite as good as my colt( see, i DO HAVE TOP END STUFF TOO or my DILLON) BUT IT still works- the other thing i've noticed is that of people call it junk, but they don't SPECIFIY what was wrong with it- that does a LOT to enhance our knowledge base- and i've been in this game roughly 40 years
I have a large assortment of NC Star, I can tell you that the 10-40x50 Mildot Mark III are very good. I have one on my savage bull barrel .22, Rem 700 VSSF .308, savage BVSS .233
I also have gone back and forth with 8-32x50 AOE Mildot on .223 but prefer the side adjust for varmint hunting.
I have used my VSSF with NCStar optic to shoot Fclass in Gagetown, Dan C. was spotting me, and I can tell you nothing wrong with those particular variations.
I don't particularly like the red dot, or the smaller fixed 6x scopes as their adjustments seem finicky, and my large red dot cracked internally when mounted on a shotgun.
The 3x9 isn't great for .22 as you can't adjust the clarity at close in objects, it is better to mount something with an adjustable focus. I have it mounted on my AR and it works well.
If I were to recommend an NC Star I would stick with that larger Mark III's with 6x24x40 or 50, or 8x32x50, 10x40x50 as they are tactical, great clicking no problems constantly adjusting, though the setting on the highest power doesn't have the same clarity or results that the big named producers such as burris, leupold, nikon, or nightforce. For the price you will get a better than average shooting optic that has a lifetime warranty.
