NcStar precision grade bipod, is it any good?

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with these bipods,
Looking to put it on a savage 93r17. Is it worth the money, or should I be looking the shell out the extra coin for a Harris? On a related note what height/ size should I get, I'm average hight (about 5'10") and build and plan to use it mainly for bench/ on the hood of a car shooting maybe a little bit of prone once in a while. The standard size is 7"-11" and the compact is 5.5"-8"

Very few NcStar products even approach "half acceptable" standard and I think I lucked out on the 2 items from that company I own being built at the start of a Monday morning.

Harris all the way!!!
 
i picked up a vangard bipid for $60 @ sail and a caldwell for $50 both are good.
the vanguard comes with swivel mounts or it can mount onto a rail.
 
If u wanna stay under $130 which is what a harris will run u... get a caldwell, pivoting and notched legs at about $60. Its a decent compromise!
 
I'm gonna toss this out there. I have bought 4 or 5 products from NC Star, from a rail to a scope. They have been just "ok". Nothing great, but better than nothing. The fit and finish on the NC Star stuff is junk, and they fall apart.

Personally, I would save your money and get a Harris.
 
I own both Harris & Caldwell bipods and there is a slight quality difference between them. I would pay 20% more for the quality of the Harris but they actually cost almost 100% more and are therefore, way overpriced for my liking.
 
Ive had good success with a Shooter's Ridge bipod. Its another harris knockoff but its holding up fine and cost about $60. For a .22 it should be fine but you wont be going wrong with a Harris either. Instead of buying the NC Star, why not just punch yourself in the nuts instead?
 
just fyi - the caldwell i have is on my 308 and its got about 200 rounds downrange with it and no issues. and the vanguard i havent used yet but its on my .223, a buddy has the same one on his and no issues.
go buy 1 from sail...keep the bill and if it happens to break (which it wont with rimfire..) then take it back.
 
I just bought a nc star bipod from can am to use with a .22. It seems to be made reasonably well but i have yet to use it. I have never owned a harris but have had shooters ridge bipods in the past.
I also have an nc star scope and red dot that have held up fine.
 
I have a Caldwell XLA "Harris type" bipod on my Mark II BTV, works great, paid 40$ for it. Does the same job as my 2 Harris bipods.
