Hey!

I have a NcStar low profile red dot. I got it in a trade attached to a gun in the EE.

I am having some troubles with it. It works, but if you tap it hard the dot goes away. If you tap it hard again it might come back, or comes back but not as bright. Every time you hit it, it changes. So when attached to a rifle, it is pretty much useless from the recoil, and im just using it on a 9mm carbine.

Since im not the original buyer and have no receipt, I guess that means any warranty is out of the question.

Has anyone seen this before?? is it garbage now? Or should i try and open it up and look for something that would be wrong like a loose wire??

Any suggestions is appreciated :)

You check the battery connection?

You check the battery connection?

You were spot on. I took it apart, and the circuit board is where the battery sits.

Upon inspection of it i noticed it was very dirty and grimy. So the battery probably was not making a good connection.

After cleaning it with a cutip and rubbing alcohol, it works fine :)

Thanks for the idea.
