You could just get a simple bead for probably $40, but a raised bead like found on the 870P barrels will cost you $100 and if you get into GRS you could be $200 to $400 in no time at all.

With prices like that, I think you need to find another gunsmith...

A bead can be drilled and tapped, but as soon as you silver solder a raised bead or ghost ring sight, the entire barrel will have to be re finished

Those prices are from one of our best gunsmiths in this province actually. You want it done right you have to pay for it to be!

Unless you know how to do it right yourself. Or have access to a world-class machinist. I'm not above paying good money to have things done right, but only if I don't have the skill myself.

And at those prices refinishing should be included if require...

Yes because the sights are silver solder on that does include re parking the barrels.
