NEA 14" modified heavy barrel - FAIL

I tought Dlask was out when I didn't see any barrels on their site, that's why I tried NEA.
There wasn't much info about their barrels here, so I tough it was worth a try...

Should have followed my instinct tho, I would have never bought one of their AR with what I heard about them. And I got my first and only warning here when I overreacted to a NEA condescending comment... Usually that's more than enough for me to look elsewhere.

Anyway, now we know. Hope I can save a couple guys the trouble.

A buddy just got one of these medium profile barrels. It dropped right into his Express and runs perfectly. Far smoother finish inside and out than on my heavy barrel.

Two out of three needs work than. Still pretty bad IMHO...
Good for him tho, really wish that happened to me.

No doubt.

The strange thing is that it doesn't fit right on my Wingmaster that works perfect with the heavy NEA barrel. Strange stuff.

Lol, but, but...... NEA stuff is made to spec......

Maybe you get a fresh new spec with every batch.

 How does that even makes sense?

I don't know. I can't see or measure any difference in the barrel extension area between the two.

All I can speculate is that I got lucky with the Wingmaster and there is some real difference between it and the the Express receivers that I can't see.

This was the result of the second shell I put through on my barrel. I wanted to ship it back with a wasps nest enclosed but i had already had a scattergun tech. front sight put on it, NEA was totally unresponsive to my support inquiries. My gunsmith polished the chamber and wanted to know "What kind of &#@%ing hack ships a barrel with parkerizing in the chamber?"

I think Dave was going in vacation, he was always replying to my emails.
He seemed convinced they had a fine product tho.

So we are what 3 out of 4 that needs a mallet either to fit the barrel or to extract the shell now? They should start shipping one with the barrel ;)

I was annoyed, but it did only take about 5 minutes with my Dremel, a felt wheel, and some polish, to smooth out my chamber.

Shouldn't have come that way, but it's not hard to deal with yourself.
