NEA-15 7.62x39 thoughts? Advice for a beginner

I'm looking into this as well. I'm waiting to see how the Windham pans out with some reviews. If it is anything like their other rifles, than it will also be a good product.

Do a search on here and also on SFRC's area. There's a report from New Zealand that mirrors my results, which were good! I've been using coupled XCR pistols mags (that are on sale right now @ Frontier). SFRC has uppers back in stock. No I don't work for SFRC, I'm just happy with the value equation of 7.62 ammo and AR performance.

Just wondering how viable this gun in particular would be. I've talked with guys and read about the SKS (x39 for example) not being overly accurate at 100 yards or accurate at all? (Is this even correct?) ... I guess I'm considering this caliber for cost (practise) and this NEA model because it's based on an AR platform. Has anyone had any experience with this? Accuracy of the gun and caliber and at what range, or longevity of the rifle (ex. 10,000 round barrel life or whatever it may be). I'm a almost scared to post this for fear of getting raked over the coals for some reason or another. Haha

No. The SKS is more accurate than people give it credit for. At 200m, I'm hitting a 12" gong about 85-90% of the time. At 300m, it's around 35-40%. AR's will do the same ...? But that aside, an NEA AR in 7.62x39 is a good choice. If I were going to do another restricted build, I would choose that. OR....you should look into a non-restricted VZ58.
