NEA 15 PDW Newb Experience. *Updated 01/06/2012*

I wish my Norinco M4 was made by a Canadian Manufacturer!! Thousands of rounds through mine. Flawless! Every Norinco owner I know has similar experiences. They are tanks. If I ever start hearing similar things about NEA without any of these stories I will buy one. Thanks to the OP for a great honest review.

In the picture , it doesn't look like the receiver has very pronounced ramps cut out. On NEA's site they say M4 feed ramps and ramps on barrel extension but
how well has it been done?

As far as an extractor issue, are you getting stove pipes from spent brass??? videos look like she's throwing good.

Not really sure about NEA's firearms.

Stove pipes are spent brass, and the new ejection issue is that the brass isn't flying very far at all.

I'm going to take this to NEA's forum now with some questions.

ya , I'm well aware that stove pipes are spent brass. My point was that it's likely not an ejector problem if you are not getting any pipes!!!

If your ramps look good then I would suspect timing with the gas. Cycling too fast. Old Stoner made the impingement set up for a longer barrel. Shorter and they can in some occasions become quite finicky.

Hope you find the cause!

Update.

Got the gun out again.

I tightened the gas block, put in the heavy buffer, and the diablo comp.

No more failure to feeds, but now I get a stove pipe once a mag or so.

I'm going to put the stock buffer in and see if that clears it up. If not, maybe I'll put in an extractor kit and see if that helps.

Hey FastFord! I don't know if this will help or not but your extractor seems weak on your NEA PDW...My NEA CQB throws the empty cases about 15 to 20 feet at my 5 o'clock consistently, and it throws them hard! Lol a fudd ended up with a hot case in his face :D Made my day!

Not sure. The rifle was ejecting well before. I guess I could try an extractor kit. Is it common for an extractor to fail after ~400 rounds?

Wow bud, have you ever had a hot case in the face before, fkn fudd or not thats not to humorous eh

Depends where. Some wear near where the bolt cam pin cams over is normal.

Ok, maybe that is what I am seeing here?

FF, you're going to have more dollars and time into your PDW just to get it reliable than I do with my out of the box Spkie's. That has to bother you, what will NEA do for you?

Not saying it is a poor product, but hopefully NEA steps up and makes it right. Sending parts is one thing, but what's your time and frustration worth....and how many dollars in ammo have Been "wasted"?

Hope you get this thing running well.
