Nea-15

Norinco lower Colt IUR UPPER less then $1000 can ammo has the lowers $199 complete. Then throw on the IUR FOR AROUND $600 even though I payed over $1000 when it came out AHHHHH LOL. I would try to get a free floating barrel if you can. It's 2016 lol

That is a fine way to spend a grand

the word is biased. Every single word that I have typed about NEA is 100% true, I have nothing to hide, I stand behind every word I have typed. You can imply whatever you like, the fact remains, I speak the truth.

Pretty sure he was making a play on words when it was originally posted.

Well, even though nea quality has been suspect at times, they are a Canadian manufacturer and from what I've seen their customer support is second to none. I probably would have bought an nea had colt Canada not come on the market.

In my Norinco it took all the wobble out.... Lol.... Accuracy improve , I don't think so...

That's what I'm saying. It removes the wobble but does nothing to improve performance. If the wobble is a problem then an ear plug stuffed under the rear takedown lug works and costs a lot less.

You made a great choice, the Colt Canada rifles are top notch.

Holy hell I did not think I would start this kind of argument.

Just so theres a conclusion to this thread I ended up getting a:

Daniel Defense M4A1 Carbine 5.56 Nato 14.5" Barrel, Black Soft Touch FDE

Very nice! That's the current issue SOCOM rifle, isn't it? I'll be looking at either this DD or the anticipated Colt modular rifle next I think. I'd love to hear a range report when you have a chance.

Are Colt IURs still avaliable? Look to be sold out everywhere.

Sure is. That was when their bolts were supplied by someone else. Those in the know are aware that a certain other "premium" AR brand was buying the same bolts at the same time and had the same issues...they didn't get the press on CGN that NEA did, who knows why. But the fact remains that once they started making their own AR-15 bolts I don't believe they've had a single shear...so what is the point of advising someone buying one from a retailer today about a known issue that was resolved 18+ months ago?

So for an NEA purchased pre 18 months ago, would a BCG swap be sufficient? I've put around 500 rds through my 12.5" without a single issue but it's been range time, not hard use.

I'd contact NEA and ask them if yours is one of the bolts at issue and I would expect they would replace it if it is.

I would buy a quality BCG from DD or someone else, BCG issues including catastrophic failures are a hallmark of NEA rifles

NEA Is garbage, save your pennies and buy an excellent product with a history of reliability. In my opinion, this company should be tits up.

.... BCG issues including catastrophic failures are a hallmark of NEA rifles

So when a manufacturer purchases a number of bolts with issues a year and a half ago, in your mind that equates to "BCG issues including catastrophic failures are a hallmark of NEA rifles"? I know you have some weird NEA-hating fettish but this is a little much, even for you.

Now if it came to light that one of the other 3 well known ar companies that bought bolts from the same defective batch as NEA, was let's say Troy, would you then say that BCG issues including catastrophic failures are a hallmark of Troy rifles? Cause that is what you are doing here and it's rather trollish of you.

Do we need to get into all the bolt failures that have shown up here on NEA rifles? Not to mention the bolt carriers with holes in the wrong place, gas keys falling off rifles, gas keys with angle grinder marks on them. un staked gas keys, bolts broken straight through the cam pin hole, broken cam pins, over sized firing pin holes lugs broken off after three shots, I have seen your own rifle with gas key mis alignment. Troy rifles don't have a long history of serious issues with bolts, carriers gas keys triggers, flash hiders, rails out of square, rifles where the charging handle wouldn't even clear the receiver plate, and on and on and on. NEA blames everything that they do wrong on "a bad batch of insert part here".

Do we need to get into all the bolt failures that have shown up here on NEA rifles? Sure, let's do that. I'll add my comments in bold and you feel free to provide some proof to what you're claiming.

the bolt carriers with holes in the wrong place I don't recall a single carrier with holes in the wrong place let alone multiple "carriers" as you state, please provide examples,

gas keys falling off rifles Again, I don't recall a gas key falling off a rifle, let alone multiple examples as you contend, please provide examples,

gas keys with angle grinder marks on them I recall one example of this, it was an abomination.

un staked gas keys Saw a few pics of those I think, some poorly staked ones as well,

bolts broken straight through the cam pin hole, broken cam pins, over sized firing pin holes lugs broken off after three shots All attributed to a rifles assembled over a period of a few months a year and a half ago where NEA (and others) received a bad run of bolts from a supplier. Since then they've been making their own without issue,

I have seen your own rifle with gas key mis alignment You saw pictures I posted of my own rifle with over 10,000 rounds through it, the nub on the gas tube was worn, and you conclude from the picture the gas key is misaligned. Like every one of your criticisms, it's based on pictures you've seen on the Internet, no first hand knowledge. Sorry to burst your bubble but a) my gas key is not misaligned and b) my BCG is a dpms, a fact that is clearly stated in the very post you are referring to. If you didn't have blood welling up in your eyes every time you see the letters NEA, you might have read that.

NEA has had more than their fair share of blunders and blemishes, you'll get no argument from me on that. I just don't get why you seem to have made it your mission to save the world from NEA. I at least have an excuse to keep taking your bait, I have several of their rifles and really like them. What's your reason?
