Does anyone know who produces NEA barrels?
Or do they turn their own from blanks?
Nitrated? SS? Chromed lined?
Curious minds want to know.
Apparently NEA sources it's barrels from a well known, very high quality source - Misanthropist knows who, but is sworn to secrecy. He had a thread on the NEA guns fairly recently.
I thought American AR's had to have a 16.5" barrel in order for them to be used for hunting . . . I could be wrong. NEA makes there own barrels and they are ARC+ coated - it's a proprietary coating that has held up pretty well for my AR. It has seen over a 1000 rounds of various ammo and still looks/functions fine. I have a previous post with some pics of the ARC+ BCG just to give you an idea of what the product looks like . . .
That may be true but, unlike yours, at least my comment/observation offers this conversation something tangible and positive . . .1,000 is nothing. 5,000...7,000 and up would start to be a better benchmark for comment on their coating IMO.
