Apparently NEA sources it's barrels from a well known, very high quality source - Misanthropist knows who, but is sworn to secrecy. He had a thread on the NEA guns fairly recently.

1,000 is nothing. 5,000...7,000 and up would start to be a better benchmark for comment on their coating IMO.

And how is that exactly?

What I'm telling you is that 1,000 rounds through an AR equals to a barely broken in rifle, thus you saying that "it's a proprietary coating that has held up pretty well for my AR" is IMO (perhaps you didn't read my whole sentence) is not enough proof that their proprietary coating is good. It might be. Or it may not.

Hopefully that cleared things up.
 
I think what he is getting at BenL is that he is actually putting forward actual experience with his firearm in an attempt to contribute to the discussion. Where you are just sh!tting on what his experience was as "not good enough, so why even post".

Hell, if the coating showed signs of wear or started to fade or peel off by the thousand round mark, I'd like to know about it! It seems that according to Novascotiaguy that this isn't the case :D
 
Update!!!

So i have about 500 rounds thru this rifl, mostly in factory setting, recently i installed a Smith Enterprises brake, low profile buis, a newer Eotech 512, magpul forward angled grip, magpull str milspec carbine stock and a blackhawk single point sling.

It running absolutely problem free, no ftf, fte etc etc and its shooting about a 3 inch group at 100 meters with the eotech and rather rushed shooting.

The big story is the brake...its absolutely amazing how it stabilized the barrell for followup shots. Its like a battlecomp on sterroids. Even at a 100 meters, the little 1 moa eotech dot simply dosent move away from the target due to recoil.

The plan is not to throw in a better trigger and perhaps some magnification and see if the groups improve. I have finally included an image, an will followup with more..I will be compeeting in a carbine match this july in this configuration and i am looking forward to seeing if i can improve on my performance

 
Good to hear martinjozwa, I have one of these barrels on it's way to me right now as part of an 18" project I'm starting.
Any plans to go beyond the 1x power optic with your rifle?
 
My NEA came with a black shinny mag but it din't give me any problems. Removing the pins to take the rifle was tight at first but now are kinda easy. I have the 14.5" and looking at getting the 18" or even a 20".

For your warranty. Send it by email. the link din't work for me either ( back in May 2013 ).

Enjoy and can't wait to see pictures.

PS: Here is a picture of my NEA after a 2 day Carbine training. It was raining the hole time.
