from what I understand troy don,t make anything, they oursource.
Nothing wrong with the troy lock up system, as long as the MFG using it knows why they are doing.
I could be a real d**K as call is the Sampson rail system.... but well you know what they say truth is written by the winners and troy won that law suit.
From what I remember there was a product recall on some handguards, I cant remember the details and of course the post have all be deleted.
but I think nea was offering an exchance at one point??
Ill say again if the bbl nut is not lined up correct then the rail system will not work.
The new bbl nut is much better.
post some pics and im sure some one here from nea can help you work out what wrong, still sounds like an install issue not a product issue.
I could do the math or someone here might have the answer for us, but your standard front sight post at 200 yards is incapable of anything much better than minute of man. Peep/aperture sights on all common AR iron sights are based around speed over precision. Seeing as how the AR is not a precision system the lack of precision in iron sights isn't really an issue. The use of single focal plane optics be it reddot style or magnified should clearly illustrate the shortcomings of irons. Optics are faster and can offer greater precision than irons ever will. That in mind, irons are backup sights for those who shoot fast and desire reasonable accuracy while doing so. Irons keep your rifle from becoming a club when your optic fails.
Irons are sighted in and left alone.

The NEA rails mount fine and are rock solid on all the one's I've handled, and as mentioned, they aren't the only ones that mount this way so OP needs to really justify yet another 1 off whine thread.

This is an install issue. Virtually all the rails I have installed, and that includes rails from loads of different manufacturers have some slop before they are aligned and tightened down.
The easiest way to align a rail is to clamp it in place with a picatinny accessory.
Don't ##### that a particular piece of lot is crap if you don't know how to properly install it.

For one...i installed the rail properly and it does not index. When rotated, the tab to line the rail up touches the reciever before the rail rotates enough for the picatiny rails to align. Two because its such a piss poor design, tightening the screws pulls the rail out of alignment as well. Three...any one that thinks their design is a good one on here...must work for them. Four i bought it brand new from them and was told that it was my problem and there was no way they could design their rails to fit every rifle. Lastly, this isn't another whinning thread. Trying to share some info so people don't waste their money so to chuck 3436...#### you!
