Hi everyone, I need to buy a freefloat handguard for my 300 BLK AR built.

I will be putting this on a Vltor MUR upper, along with FDE magpul accessories.

I looked at several handguard models, and really like a handguard that parts from the standard quad rail look (Troy, rainier arms, spikes, noveske, and particularly fortis). I was not able to find most of them in canada in the 11-12 length, except the troy.

I then saw the NEA handguard, which is pretty economic (under 200$), and has kind of a square look that I think could look good on my MUR upper (if anyone has a picture please show me!)

All NEA bashing aside, I wanted to know what is the quality like, how solid it clamps, is it heavy, and most importantly, does it have an alignment tab that would prevent it from being used on my MUR upper? Should I look for something else?

Thanks for you time!!

Did you look at the Daniel Defense Modular FF Rail 12'' for 279$ at Wolverine? I have a few DD rails and rifles and they are top quality!

One Shot Tactical had a few rails that you are looking at but they are out of stock right now maybe you can try to contact them.

I installed one on my competition/teaching AR and it's got the pinch bolts on the bottom. This is their second iteration of the quad rail. It comes with it's own proprietary (sometimes a good thing, sometimes not a good thing) barrel nut that was dead easy to install.

I chose this quad rail since I wanted a super easy installation. Now I don't need to shoot with a ANPAQ-15 (or whatever) device, nor do I need a weapon light (unless the zombies show up) so I did not really have a need for the side rails.

Here is a pic of the NEA Quad rail, or their 2nd Gen unit:

Buy what works for you and YOUR game, your budget, your "looks cool' value/factor, and your self esteem! :D

Cheers,

Thanks for the infos, I could not find anything other than a review of the first gen with tightening screws on each sides which was not the best review.
Good to know that it works great on your AR

I already checked on wolverine and they have good deals on DD, and CTCS would have what I want, but sadly, they are always more expensive than any other sponsor.

i have a 2nd gen NEA 12 inch rail on my 18 inch NEA upper. Its been used for about a 1000 rounds, no issues, free floated, decent quality. Still like to support canadian made units as a added benefit.
