NEA AR15 Pre Sale Coming Soon

I'm VERY excited about the release of this rifle (been counting the days) as I've decided to make it my FIRST firearm purchase :D !! I'm looking at the 14.5" version w/out any sights and I was wondering if there was anything else I would need to purchase before I could take it to the range for a spin?
 
It is with great regret that we are unable to make our Oct 9 release date. We have been utilizing a JIT (just in time) manufacturing and supply strategy, one that the shop has used for quite some time. That being said, we are being held up by one of our suppliers and are trying our hardest to get it sorted out ASAP.

While no one likes a delay, rest assured that we are doing everything we can to get these rifles out as soon as possible. We are sitting on a pile of 99% rifles and have become a victim of Murphy's Law.

We have made arrangements with not only a secondary but a tertiary source to get this sorted out. We will let our dealers know the expected turnaround time is.

Sorry for the inconvenience, but there is one thing for certain int he manufacturing industry.. there will always be a delay, and this one came in on the 11th hour.


Note : this is not a matter "of months" issue, just a not this week one.

However, dealers are still receiving receivers (complete and stripped), barrels and quad rails this week. So those waiting on those items will still receive them.

I'm happy to see that you guys are so dedicated to your clients as it's rare and refreshing in most industries these days! My only comment would be that everyone who depends on the JIT process is starting to learn just how fragile it is and how it totally kills any leeway or flexability in the supply process.

Might be good on paper, but is just not practical as it's not a perfect world.

I've noticed most shops are starting to eliminate as many links in the supply chain as posssible and providing more and more in house substitution so as to garantee as much as possible no work stoppage due to unforseen supply problems. Not a criticism, just a observation.

Again, thanks for being so upfront and honest with us :)

For the most part you're right. But JIT actually provides us with a lot of flexibility; you just have to ensure that your sources are sound and you have backups. This was a bit of a perfect storm though and we got blindsided.

Normally critical components we like to have a healthy inventory of, and JIT "our" components. We can control what we do, not our suppliers. But because we were lining up our first supply we got nailed cutting it too close. Our fault. And not one we'll be repeating.


For those that have been asking, the issue was a last minute export issue with our carrier groups. It has been dealt with and we have everything inbound. The good news is that the experience has led us to decide to make carrier groups here in Canada where we can control the availability easier... and provide them at a much reduced price to our US competitors.

That's fantastic news!! As much as I love supporting our southern cousins, thier gouvernment has gone totally loopy as of late and seems to make things as hard as possible to do business with them ...... maybe you should classify yourselves as a Mexican drug cartel and get in on all those free fast & furious program hand outs LOL !! No, really, I'm just kidding !!! :D

Again, a great solution to a difficult problem!
 
Can you post pictures of the 10.5 CQB platform? Also,..are there different comps available and if so, what ones; or is the typical A2 flashhider standard? I have a flashider on my R.A. XCR that has no holes in the bottom,...I think it is better as it acts like a comp only venting gases up. I am interested in getting another AR, but want something that will run dirty and be 99.99% reliable....so is the gas system adjustable at this length?

maurice I ordered a 10.5, I offered it to MMATT to do a review of it on Canadian Reload Radio, which he accepted. You can come check it out if you like when it gets here.
 
On the other hand we are offering free shipping right now so dealer location doesn't really matter :)
