NEA ARs. Who's tried them or owns one?

I was looking at a 14.5" barreled one in 5.56 today. On sale. I'm very tempted. What's the opinion on them?

They also had one in .300 Blackout. I'd personally stick with the more common ammo size, but any comments?
 
I have a NEA lower and upper with a YHM 20" barrel, Norc bolt and DPMS carrier. Have not had a chance to try her out yet but headspace is good.
 
You must be living under a rock. Their lack of quality control is almost legendary and there are umpteen threads about it
 
Wow the weekly nea thread. Just scroll down you will read about there great quality control and legendary crappy customer service.
 
I bought one from the first run..... Low 200 serial #.

Too many problems to list to be quite honest.... All of them were easily remedied.

Sold it about a year ish ago, after putting approx 3000 rnds through it, with out a problem....

I did buy 3 lower when SFRC was blowing them out for $60, nice lowers to build off of IMHO.

NEA has certainly had its challenges with QC but their just service is generally excellent. In 99% of cases guys who have contacted them with issues have had those issues correct no questions asked. Let us give credit where it is due.
 
Mine has worked flawlessly and I think I got great value.

YMMV. May vary wildly evidently according to CGN.

Runs good enough that I keep her because I really have no reason to change to another brand. Run her through a few high mileage tac-courses as well. Never a hickup yet.

While I may have joined CGN a bit over a year ago I only got my RPAL a few months ago. My first purchase was in December, an M&P9 and -22. So no, i DONT know much about ARs yet. Nor had I heard of NEA before this. So I turned to those more experienced for comments. I'd say that was part of what CGN is for.

If you don't have anything useful to contribute, why bother to reply?

Someone, in another NEA thread, said that their second-generation builds are much better. The price is certainly very attractive. It felt good, But of course the proof is in the shooting. And I'm told they are Canadian made, so they deserve some support.
 
My experiences with NEA are the following:

1) Bought a stripped upper, rail ok, held the barrel just fine, no complaints
2) Bought a stripped lower, also no issues with the dimensions. The only weird things were the fixed trigger guard and that the takedown pin detent goes up from the pistol grip
3) Ran a 22lr upper, gave me a bunch of light strikes, but so did my CMMG upper, a weakness of the system itself, not the manufacturer. Ordered aftermarket parts to fix those weaknesses on the CMMG from Cactus
 
All I know is I have never had a bolt break in half from any other ar company. Like I see in the many posts here.

Until the QC is t notch they won't get my money
