NEA ARs. Who's tried them or owns one?

nugunner….don't take anything personally around here. There are some good people here with great info. I've been around a bit longer than you and also not too familiar with all the different brands of AR's.
I briefly owned a Dlask and Colt SP1 AR a few years ago. AR's were never my cup of tea but recently got the itch to get back into the scene and saw some NEA's on sale. They "looked" good and I felt the NEA's were a step up from the Norc's but after reading several threads….I'm not too sure anymore.
The recent sale of Bushmaster's for <$900CDN looked like a good deal but in the end I spent my money on a used(mint) LMT Defender 10.5"bbl A2 with carry handle and Sopmod stock……just the way I like it:)

Have put 1500 rounds through mine has ran flawless ,only complaint is it was assembled by Popeye things are torqued way too tight ,have sheared off allen heads during disassembly .

If you want to support a Canadian accompany, there are plenty. Colt Canada, ATRS, And Cadex to name a few, and these will be less likely to give you the headaches you'll get with NEA
 
No issues with mine.

Going to buy the x39 upper when it's on sale. If the bolt breaks: piddle on it. Lifetime warranty.

It's not like I only take one rifle to the range.
 
I have a 10.5" that I bought end of last year. No real issues up to now, maybe 1200 rounds thru it. Only "issue" I've had was the safety being kinda hard to move, so I popped it out and cut a couple of coils off the spring and now it works like buttah.
 
To support some of the other Canadian companies as suggested will cost you quite a heafty sum. I got one of those sale lowers from sfrc and had zero issues building it with a spikes lpk, and if sj don't start selling their parts soon I guess I'll have to get an upper from NEA to continue.
 
I have a NEA lower and NEA BCG on a Bushmaster upper. It shoots fine. I have another stripped billet NEA upper and lower that I won't have a problem building into another rifle.
