Well I bought an NEA barrel for a build. Guess what? The barrel is not drilled for a regular front sight. I can not do it and sending anywhere is not feesable. Is there a front sight which is attached by screws? Could also look at the railed gass blocks aswell. Let m eknow if you have any suggestions.
I am looking for parts I can find here in Canada.
Cheers, James.

You can get clamp on front sight towers and clamp or set-screw gas blocks.

I'm pretty sure most AR barrels don't come drilled for the FSB pins unless they come with the FSB installed.

Most of the sponsor vendors who sell AR stuff should have gas blocks, the clamp on FSB is probably not as common.

Edit: Yankee Hill makes at least three different styled clamp-on folding FSB.

James - all pinned front sights are drilled AFTER install to a specific barrel and then pinned, so if you buy a bbl without an A2 front sight assembly, it won't come drilled no matter who makes it.

There are set-screw front sights available. Check brownells for one you like and probably someone in Canada will carry it.

just drill and tap the gas block from the bottom. there is already one hole drilled, you just have to tap it for a 10-24 set screw.

well I have a low profile gas block from Brownells, guess what it does not fit. Goes about half way down and gets stuck. So I bought another one, guess what it does not fit either. I am so happy at this point. So last nught I ordered a low profile straight from NEA to fit onn the NEA barrel if it don't fit I am selling the barrel and buying something else. I just want to assemble and shoot my rifle is that so wrong?

Half way down what? Did you get the correct diameter gas block? Did you try and tap it down? Don't necessarily expect the gas block to just slide into place with no effort.

Do you have a buddy with AR assembly experience who can help you out in person?
