NEA/BCL Lower - Rear detent and spring from the bottom

Hey all, I am putting together the above.

The detent and spring for the takedown pin appear to go in to the bottom of the receiver as opposed to the rear.

I have DPMS lpk.

Does the spring just get pushed up inside the lower as I tighten the grip? Seems way to long and the rear takedown pin is way too tight if I do that.

Is there a special pistol grip I need to use for the NEA/BCL lower to accommodate the spring like the safety detent?

Or a shorter spring maybe?

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks
Dan

any chance you’ve mixed up the takedown pin spring with the safety spring?

That is correct method though - safety spring in the hole of the pistol grip, and the grip will close in on the takedown.

Great, thank you.

Got it together and the takedown pin is really tight.

And the finish metal on the detent is coming off from moving the pin back and forth.

I assume it is just because I bought a cheap LPK. CMMG
