NEA Co-witness Upper Handguard Rail Test

heres the link:

i put about 30 rnds thru it like this, and it didn't seem to get too hot....but i mean to get it out and really put it to the test.

you will notice that the back of the upper rail has to be grinded slightly to match the angle of the gas port housng...as its a little long, and then when tightening it down...angle it slightly...and as you tighten it it will lower a bit to level (you'll see when u do it).......also u will need to get longer screws...got mine at canadian tire

it seems to hold zero pretty good, and you can quickly sight it in by lining up iron sights on (U) or 100 m (U for the shorty) and then move red dot to top of front bead, when sights lined up :)

if you have trouble leveling it... drill/tap a sink screw into back of rail on angle (say 45')......tighten it down, slightly low on back...and use sink screw to level it up when mount tight....rock solid

lol...one for each hand would look absolutly terrifying to a lib.....yeah...like to see what you did.......
man....... i got the shorty....i love it...seriously if you get one.....you won't regret it...it will be yer new "toy"

loud as hell...it will really thump yer skull...and the flash is HUGE, but i'm gonna put one of these on it...should totally eliminate the flash, and absorb most of the concussion..and look awesome :)

yes...if you mount the sight as far forward as u can...it just makes it, if you have trouble...remove the fastfire..it should be zeroed when u put it back on...if not..simply line up dot with top of front bead when iron sights lined up :)

maybe without the pic protectors it will sit lower....then should be np at all

Hey. Here's a pic of how mine lined up. I previously test fired this rifle to ensure that it worked. Yesterday was first day at range. Irons were 6" low at 25 yards so I just sighted in red dot. I have a fiber optic front sight I have yet to install. I really like the set up though. I had problems with rifle though. I will start a new thread so as not to hijack.

i like co-witnessing the original sights, to me it doesn't make sense to add flattop sights....and still have originals on..and unused...... like some are set up. Also adding a straight tube set -up , which also eliminates the use of original iron sights...also makes no sense to me....

nice set up.... :) looks good
