For those across the nation who were too far away to make it to Target Sports Canada for NEA day - and to taunt those who are too lazy to make it out to these great charity events - Here's a bit of what we got to play with on NEA day.

Joe the Law Enforcement & Military Sales Representative for Target Sports Canada was in the house along with some current and ex military and LE personnel who were interested in the NEA rifle.

Not only does NEA make components and rifles but they also make suppressors! I got to shoot a 10" LMT with all the Magpul goodies and the NEA Suppressor! This was a total blast. Other people got to give it a try too. Also later in the day some normal capacity magazines made it onto the line.

It was great to give these products a try and it was 100% legal! Super fun times for sure. Thanks Joe!!! :D

When Target Sports or The Shooting Edge has a charity event - it's a good idea to show up. This was the most black rifle fun I've ever had. Pics of the guns are below.

For a better look at the gun Andy of CRR will be posting a you tube video when he's done editing it. Also look forward to a Canadian Reload Radio Network podcast with interviews from NEA and Vortex Optics.

This thread is worthless without...

Vortex red dot and 3X magnifier.

More Vortex goodness for long range situations.

Another angle. The glass on these is made in Japan and super clear. Clearest optic I've ever used.

Yes. That's a real can and I got to try it. Awesome!

Mmm... LMT, Magpul, Eotech, NEA Suppressor.... Nice!

For the curious how did the NEA AR-15 run? There was one problem due to a bad magazine. We tossed that mag aside.

After that for the whole day not a single malfunction! It feels tight, solid, quad rail is very comfortable to grip, accurate, overall bad ass. You can buy an AR for more money but you can't get better value. My impression of the general feel of the gun? It's not like an LMT or S&W or any other AR. I'd say it feels most similar to an H&K MR223 - good company in terms of similar feel and handling traits. I'm sure we'll have plenty of review posted by CGN'ers real soon.

For those of you who missed NEA day and want to give the guns a try. NEA has provided the guns to Target Sports as range guns so you can come by and shoot them. As usual CALL BEFORE YOU COME TO SHOOT to make sure the NEA's are good to go and that there is enough frangible .223 for you to use.

Not only was the admission cost $10.00 donated to Wounded Warriors but J.R. Cox decided to donate all of the money from the ammo purchased to the charity as well - so 100% of the money went to a great cause.

It was good meeting you guys yesterday. Thanks for taking the time to come by and say hello, and more importantly ask some questions. We're glad you had fun with the toys on display.

I'm editing the podcast interview now. I'm sure it will be one of our most popular episodes ever. Thanks again for the fun times and the great interview.

I had a chance to shoot the 10.5" with the suppressor, my first time with both, and I loved it. I'll be signing any petition to get those legalized. Anyway, the NEA 14.5" was nice to shoot, and I did not experience any issues. My only complaint was with the controls (trigger, safety) which were a little rough, but I normally swap those out anyway. I'll be looking at the 10.5" enhanced or the 12.5" when it becomes available.

I had no issue with the safety. My civilian finger didn't have a great time with the military trigger. David from NEA said there are other trigger options and that this batch came with the military trigger. After a few boxes of ammo I got used to it - but I do like a much lighter trigger.

Indeed the suppressor was fantastic. Especially for indoor shooting. Short rifles indoors get super loud. I too loved the suppressor and certainly want more.

With all the talk on here I was glad to get a chance to try one out as well. Definitely on my list of wants. I've got to make sure I didn't win the draw before I order though ;)

Show and tell is always fun with Joe. He has the coolest toys. Always enthusiastic and excited to share the latest gear.

The shorty AR with the can brought a big smile to my face and made my son sorry that he did not attend.

Joe doesn't go easy with the oil on his guns though.:D

Extra back pressure from the suppressor & gun powder makes the oil desirable, besides that gun likes it wet and hot;) - I also have enough Slip 2000 to lubricate several artillery field pieces.

All I want in my life is standard-cap mags, and a can, is that too much to ask for? How does one go about getting a Prohib item license :D Without dreaming of course...

Canadian Reload Radio has now posted the video/interview to youtube. Head on over to the firearms media forum to take a look!

Please be gentle. This was my first attempt on camera.

Not quite yet they don't. I made those cans. ;) However NEA is going to be making my designs shortly. Sorry guys but I have to get at least some of the fame while I can. :)

The suppressor design is an advanced CNC machined monocore combined with fully welded construction to make it very quiet, very tough and lightweight. It weighs under a pound and is only a bit over 6" OAL.

The downside being that now I have to make myself another one cause apparently I am not getting that one back. :(

And this has been the reaction of every person I have ever exposed to silencers ....... "Why can't I have one?"

... Every company needs a mad scientist. ;)

I missed the the one with the suppressor buy minutes :( when they decide that our ear plugs and head sets are suppressor variants we'll all be in trouble ;)
