NEA fanboys/issues

For the record, I hope/plan on buying an NEA AR-15 some time this year (when funding permits). For many reasons, not the least of which is good CS reputation and Canadian content.

I might even sign up for a course to be a fanboy. Do instructors for this course need to be certified with CFO?

I am going to pick up a 7.5 and a 10 inch NEA when they are available and I'm pretty confident that if they are not in perfect working order, the guys at NEA will make it right. for all the guys who ##### whine and moan about the lack of available and affordable firearms in Canada, you should at least throw some moral support to our small Canadian firearms producers even if your not willing to support them financially. every company has growing pains, and sometimes it comes down to local support for these companies to succeed.

i have an issue with a nea upper I currently have a round stuck in it and the bolt will not come back I have tried the kick start option and nothing/ It will not pull back I need to know someone that will service the NEA upper to fix this problem

It's possible you have one of the bad chambers. Is the round steel or brass? Reload or factory round? Can you retract the bolt at all? If yes, can you see if the rim is still intact, or torn off?

Have you tried putting a cleaning rod down the bore to see if it will push out with light pressure? (I assume the round is fired).

IF that does't fix it, don;t do anything else until you can contact the retailer or manufacturer for their advice/warranty/service/etc.

Well.. considering I am in the market for an AR in 2012.. I am giving the NEA serious thought.... I really like the idea of supporting a Canadian company :)

Reading all of this convinced me. I'm buying one.

Reading all of this convinced me. I'm not buying one. I will buy Canadian. There are other options. I just don't get it. It's not like the AR was just recently invented, and none of them are that different since the parts are supposed to all interchange. Why all the fuss ??

The most important factor in my decision? I personally like the B.C. gunsmith, and I feel confident buying a product with a proven track record from someone I like. There has to be a message to prospective entrepreneurs in this.

With all this drama, I'll still buy NEA products. Why? Because if anything is wrong with them, NEA will make it right. In the end, what more could anyone expect?

Say whatever you want about NEA but show me one person on here who had a legitimate issue with an NEA product, who didn't get his issue taken care of and the problem fixed.

I will make it clear that I am NOT an NEA fanboy. In fact I have purposly avoided their AR untill they get proven and the bugs worked out. There are always (I repeat) ALWAYS growing pains for a company to release a new product line. Product testing can only take you so far,you can never duplicate real world circumstances, far to many variables and would take years to do. As a manufacturer company,I believe NEA did try to do the best they can given their situation(That I personally do not know) wether it be finances or time involved for testing. There has never been a "perfect product" released in history without some sort of learning curve.
Do you get what you pay for?.....likely yes. Did anybody drop the 3-4K on an NEA 15? NO.
There is a huge price point difference between NEA and the other top producers,ie: H&K, KAC, POF, Colt, etc...and to expect them to perform and have the assets that these others have invested is simply unrealistic.
NO SLAGGING NEA INTENDED IN THIS NEXT STATEMENT
They are a middle of the road at best product, created for those who wanted something better than entry level product but do not want to spend top end prices. Do I believe NEA has done a good job? abbsolutly,Are they experiencing any different growing pains that any other producer?... I highly doubt it.
I however will wait,I do love seeing a Canadian company attempt to serve us and sell to us(unlike Colt) and make things right. Like any other company would try do, help customers like NEA has tried to do.
To the slaggers
Be realistic and stop shooting a Canadian company in the feet, your only going to shoot yourself in the foot in the process. Be a wise consumer,You could always buy something else if you so desire.
